Default $175.00 for 10 miles over in Texas

Man, no wonder they don't put the amount on the actual ticket...the Troopers don't want to have to pick you up after you have fainted. Dam, another State I will have to stay out of ...by the way...can a warrant in Texas show up and be acted upon in other states or do I only have to worry if I am stopped in Texas?

You can only go halfway into the darkest forest, then you are coming out the other side. (unless you have been walking in circles).

    PIBIT my good man.

If a warrant is issued in any state, it is supposed to be entered into the NCIC system. When you are stopped the next time and he/she does a 10-28 & a 10-29 on you and your vehicle, it will show up as an outstanding warrant for your arrest. Then you are usually taken in and the vehicle is towed to the yard.

End up paying the ticket, tow charges and impound charges plus a fixed fee for everyday it is impounded. Can get expensive, especially on those tow charges. There is not a ceiling price on them, the tow company can usually charge what ever they feel like.

There was 1 tow company in California whose minimum fee was $300, didn't matter if he towed it 40 miles or 2 feet. If he hooked onto the vehicle and didn't even move it, it was still $300. Finally and AG intern found a loop hole and the legislature closed it.

I think I would pay the ticket. I heard from my Canadian friends when we were staying in So. Padre Island that the Canadian dollar was better than than the American. Would hate to have to bail you out if you got caught again in Michigan at Inzane.

Yep... those high speed driving awards can be expensive!!!!!!!! but that is cheaper than going to jail, and get yer vehicle out of impound......
Last ticket I got was in 1971.....they moved the city limits while I was gone to school...... When I hit the old city limit... I cranked it up!!!!!! they wrote me for 95 in a 40...... 275 bucks in 1971...... that was a weeks pay!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback...now that I know that warrant could follow me around from state to state, it's a no brainer ...got too many friends south of the border to be worried about getting stopped and towed. And good thing the Canadian dollar is otherwise this could have been very expensive...and Cattman, you are right...with only 10 over I should consider myself lucky
