    Vicki -

Sorry Jim's surgery was not as successful as we all had hoped/prayed it would be. We've all been through trying times were it would be nice to have an "easy button". You guys hang in there and be strong, you have a lot of people praying and pulling for you both.

    V....
Google 'gamma knife' surgery which is what you are referring to. I believe there is a big center in Cinncinatti doing this. There are only about twenty hospitals doing this although it has been done in Europe for decades. It was succesful for Karen, the doctors just never were able to track down the main source until it was too late. This is indeed another way to go then conventional chemo/rad - read up on it and don't forget, I'm serious about my offer; I can take care of stuff and stay out of the way if you need help.
    Ride with great verve.

Finally got some news about Jim's possible treatment. We have an appointment for a consultation at MD Anderson in Houston for Oct. 20. We go to the docs in Chattanooga Oct. 17th. If our docs here are able to consult with the doc at MD Anderson via the phone, we may not have to travel down there for the consultation........we won't know that till the 17th. So, as of now we're planning on being in Houston on the 19th.

    continued prayers you and Jim.

Dealing with Jim's issues is hard enough but adding all the other stuff, like, when do I go to Houston, do I go to Houston, will they have the conference call, do I make plans for here or do I make plans for there and on and on and on.
Just take it a day at a time and sometimes just an hour or minute at a time.
Please know we're here for you guys.

I took Jim to the emergency room this afternoon. He was having trouble walking. They did a CT scan and said he has swelling on his brain and kept him in the hospital to give him meds IV to take it down. I'll know more tomorrow morning.

I have no idea what to say other than we're thinking and paying for you both. Stay strong Vicki.
