It's Orange, chrome and mine! Used to ride many years ago, but decided to stop and be a Dad for a while. Got back into it a few years ago borrowing bikes and just couldn't stay out. Bought a new 2002 1800 VTXR Saturday and am picking it up Friday when the weather is supposed to break. Also decided the wife wouldn't go for scrapping her van windows to keep the VTX in the garage, so am building a new small garage in my backyard as fast as I can shovel gravel and pour concrete! A new BIG bike and a garage all to itself. I think I'll run electric just so I can have a light to wake u at night and go out there polish something. It shouldn't be this fun! Anyone have any advice on my new bike? What does everyone use to wash there's. What about the break in period? Are the extended warranties a good deal?
Thanks, KYRider!!!!!

Congrats on the new bike. :D Make sure you checkout the www.vtxoa.com (http://www.vtxoa.com) for all your questions about the VTX. Looks like I may be playing with three of them pretty soon. :D Take care

From all I've heard, you picked a great bike.
I think alot of us gave up riding for awhile for the kids, and jumped back into it. I was off of bikes for almost 15 years and every spring I wanted one SOOOO bad. Then finally I couldn't take it anymore! Talked the SO into a Honda ACE then after 1 year I knew I needed MORE POWER(ruff, ruff) and got a Valkyrie! That's when we met all these great people on these boards. My wife had never even been on the back of a bike before the ACE, now she rides her own VLX. Life is good!
There's a thread about break-in just below this one. Hope it helps.

Congratulation on the VTX there seems to be a lot of them out there
and the customization for the bike is large.
Just make sure when you dig that foundation that you make it large enough or a sleeping bag so when your wife kicks you out of the house for loving your VTX more than her :)
