Hey Lamont you'll like this...

We have been seeing the mom for a few years....
This year she has brought her brood around...

The first time the kids saw us they ran up a tree..
Well back that up ...
The very first time Don saw the kids they were all sleeping in the tall grass by the old shed...

He came running back to the house to get me ... And they had all woke up by the time I got there... I said maybe they were just playing possum?

About a 2 months ago mom started coming to the house for Apples..
So we started throwing a few slices out...
Knowing the apple crop this year was zip....
She comes just about every day for a morsel...

The first time the babies came with her they all ran up a tree when they saw us ... To cute.. Here you can see 3 of the 4 kids

They got way up there too !!

I took this the other afternoon...
You can see all 4 there is one that ran over to the stacked bloc to eat
it's apple....

Here you can see she has a fine looking family and are all set for winter...

They really are something.. Mom is all over the farm... When we very first saw her she goes from cowpie to cowpie eating the corn in it..:o4:
It's funny watching her kneading the poo for the grains ...

But of course to us it's icky to her it's food going to waste..

I snagged a few pix last night they are still in the cam....

I'll post on our little family from time to time...

Oh they do let us know when they are here...
They all look in the window !!!
And tap on the door...
I know one day this could be a problem ..
I hope not....

I had one as a pet for 3 years when I was a teenager. I worked all summer and paid for him. Still on a bottle. His Mom would come back to the same house and have her kids every year.

I had him trained to do his business in a litter box on top of the dryer (he would climb the dryer hose) and that was also where we kept his food.

UNREAL at how smart they are and what they can do with their hands. We use to give him sugar cubes and he would wash them in his water bowl (they wash all their food) and it would disolve. Man, he would spend 10 minutes digging around in his water bowl and then pulling his hand out and would look at you like "wazzup?" Then he would dig again - cause he knew he had that sugar cube just a while ago.

He would go into my Mom's room at night and steal her ear rings out of her ears - they are facinated by shiny objects. He had a hoard of earrings, coins, all kind of stuff hid behind the dryer.

He would also get inside the closet and run in circles holding onto a robe or something. When it was in tension, he would life his back legs and spin around.

He would open cabinets and take lids off of pots, get inside and close the lid almost all the way. That was always fun for my Mom on a Sunday morning to life the top to a pot and a 20 lb coon came shooting out!!!!!:22yikes::22yikes::22yikes:

He would also sleep in the top of the towel closet. Same thing - always fun to wake up and groggily go and open the closet and a coon landed on
your head! :22yikes:

Very smart critters for sure and for certain!!!!

Had to release him when he reached puberty. He just went wild.

GREAT SHOTS LADY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Of course his name was Rocky Raccoon.

Yeah...They're all cute until they start getting into your garbag cans and spreading trash all over your back deck and lawn every friggin' night. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I started putting bungee cords on the lids so they couldn't open them, so they just started knocking them over and dragging the trash out through whatever opening they could squeeze into. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I used to get so mad that I actually went and spent about $90 on a huge garbage can called the "Toter" at Lowes. Yeah...$90 for a garbage can!!! It is too big for them to knock over and has a hinged lid that I can bungee closed. The only problem is that it gets so heavy that it is a real pain to drag up the hill to the road on garbage day, even though it does have wheels. But at least they haven't dumped it all over my deck and lawn since. :?

Well we don't live in the area that has a trash pickup..
WE have to go to the dump.. So we really will never have that problem..
Than you did BobE...

Stride my GF had a pet 'Coon ANd the funniest story was..
When "Rocky" Got int to the bathroom and got in to a box of Tampons..
The old 80 to a box .. Well Rocky felt there had to be food in them tubes ..
Yup he opened each and everyone and fluff them all up the well you can just imagine what a mess he did ... Sue said it looked like a cotton factory explosion !! In a very small trailer bathroom..:o4::22yikes:

So far they are very well behaved... And just wait for a snack...

Well Brian... I don't eat coon so they are safe on the farm....
Now if the neighbors find out ... Well that could be another story...
After all they are eating well...:capwin:
