We just returned from a great Alaskan cruise. Here is a link to some of the pictures. They don't do justice to the beautiful vistas we saw. Lots of whales both Humpback and Orca off of Juneau and big brown phase black bear within 10 feet of the car north of Skagway in the Yukon. Captain parked the ship at the minimum legal distance possible from Dawes glacier and we got to see it calve several times. I would go back again tomorrow.

WoW!! those are great pics, what kind of cruise, big ship or inland? Wish I could get hg to go, he says something about being on a cruise for the last 5 years, but I tell him my cruise would have drinking, gambling and half-naked girls. hehe flamingobabe

I think I have the same pics (#159 and 161) if this is between Skagway and Whitehorse. Did you go to the cemetary and also the Red Onion Saloon in Skagway. I got those pictures when I rode the Valkyrie up there. Planning to possibly go again next year if finances hold up. Roy

It was with Royal Caribian on the Rhaposdy a 2000+ passenger ship. He would definatly have the drinking, gambling and possibly a fully naked girl if he's at the hot tub at the right time.;) This was the best vacation we've ever taken.
We rented a car in Skagway and drove north as far as Emerald lake south of Whitehorse. Went to Red Onion, but not the cemetary.
The glacier calved 3 -4 times while we were there. The cool dark blue looking photo of sun coming up over mountains was taken at 4 am as the ship began it's trip back the fijord to the glacier.

....Wow
.........That is totally awesome. You have some amazing picz there, and some fantastic memories Im sure. Let ask you a question. Chili and I plan on taking a cruise to Alaska also, and we plan on getting married on the ship by the Captain. Can you give me a "ballpark" estimate on how much a trip like that cost, and where did the ship depart from to begin the cruise ? Once again....great shots. Ive always wanted to explore Alaska, and your photo,s have made me want to realize that dream even more. You should have a few of those picz enlarged and framed, they are excellent.
Great pictures Brian.
If I was 10 years younger, I'd ride up here again.
Love the country up there.
