I didn't want to post any pics until the bike was done and back together, but who know's when that will be as Corbin is being very slow about shipping my bags & side covers. So here's a pic to wet your whistle with. You'll have to excuse the reflections of his house in the photo. :D Also, one thing you can't see is how the tone of the purple will change as you look at if from different angles. He topped the flames with a flip flop powder mixed in a clear base for that effect.

really really nice.
Can't wait the see the completed masterpiece.
It sure will be good seeing you back riding again, and on your own creation. Just think, it used to be the slow black one.

sweet! who's the painter? I love classic flames and shadows...it never goes outta style. Corbin can be really slow tho. Have they changed the beetle bags at all or are they they same ones we used to have??

The painter is in Charlotte, NC. I met him through the ZRXOA. BD's Cycles is his Co. name. He really worked with me on this, and sent me paint samples (which he sprayed) 3 or 4 times before I finally decided on the colors. The Beetle Bags are still the same. I shipped the parts to him, but plan on going over there to pick them up. I figure it will be a good excuse to go bug Mosa too!!

Thanks for the quick response. The Dragon at Deals Gap is my favorite stretch of road.

www.tailofthedragon.com (http://www.tailofthedragon.com) has a tee-shirt with a mechanical dragon on it. I want to do a dragon on the front of my ST 1300 that is like the one on the tee-shirt. Do you do that sort of thing? Take a look at their website and you will see what I'm talking about. There is a good shot of the tee-shirt in their online store.

If you don't see what I'm talking about on the site, let me know and I'll send you a digital pic of it.

Thanks,
Coot

I'm guessing this is the one he's talking about. Probably the head of the dragon on the pic on the left. Would they may have copywrights on this? Looks like their own design.

Vicki,

You is soooooooo smart. That's the one.

I got permission from Ron and Nancy of TailoftheDragon to do it.

Bryan,

Can you do it? I need somebody with the imagination to turn the profile into a face looking straight ahead instead of to the side, as is in the image on the shirt.

Thanks,
Coot

that's probably a little over my head. A painter can paint, but it takes a painter who's also quite an artist to handle that kind of detail! I don't think it would be too difficult to find someone who can airbrush that sort of thing onto your bike, sory I couldn't help you! :?

...I can see why you would have a hard time keeping that under wraps, really nice and clean looking...I have one question though...what made you choose "purple"
