Hey Smiley, we can top that here in Iowa.
At my house we got 3/4" of new snow.
I just looked at the school closings and there are 52 here in the state.
This is just a little bit of snow, not ICE as a lot of people have.
So what if it is 5" of fresh new snow, that shouldn't stop anyone from going to town for coffee, or to pick up their mail and etc etc etc.
You are right, this generation is a bunch of wuzzy's.
When I was a kid going to school, the teacher, 1 room school house, lived the next farm down the road. IF, we saw he go by, we headed across the fields to beat her to school. We fired up the big ole pot bellied stove and did our book learnin......... We had a lot of fun playing at recess also.
These poor kids today are all getting fat like me from setting in front of their computers and not learning a dang thing...
I'll get off my soap box now so we can return to our normal programming and weather forecast......
Continued light snow till 6:00 PM with some drifting from the blowing snow, temp, hi of 20, with a low of 7 tonight. Unless it is absolutely necessary, please stay off the roads today and tonight.

Yeah, I remember, RJ. I used to walk two miles to school summer and winter, uphill both ways. ( I always did like Bill Cosby's remark).
Seriously, you're right, things have changed. No more teachers ruler accross the backsides, no more walking to school, no more playing in the snow 'til your feet and hands got so cold you couldn't feel 'em.
Oh well, I guess I'll go outside and play with my snow blower now. Gotta get in the truck and go lift some weights and walk at the fitness center. Hafta stay in shape so that I can lift the ole Valk when I drop it this summer, HAHAHA!

Yeah I know what you mean. The weather is so bad down here that I forgot to put Sunscreen on yesterday on my 400+ mile ride and I look like a racoon. (Face all red except for where my sunglasses were)
Looks like Tuesday is going to be a cool one, temps will be in the mid 60's during the day to low 60's at night. Been wearing my leathers because at 56 degrees yesterday morning (hit a high of 78 ) the wind chill is really cold at 85+. Brrrrr!
I can't wait for spring to come so I can get some good QUALITY riding in up in your neck of the woods. :D
Hunker down and keep a log on the fire.
sure hope that Ga. weather warms up some.
I'll be there mid-February.
-12` yesterday morning here in Michigan.

I went to highschool in Key West - yeah, it was tough. One "winter" they let us out of class when the temps dipped to the low 50's because the school didn't have a furnace.
