Put the Lady in the shop Tuesday for new Front and Rear Avons. Thought while she was in there I would have that SAFETY Switch PROBLEM on the Kick Stand taken care of. WELL now they SAY its the Neutral light(that has also been out) thought that was the PROBLEM with the Kick Stand Switch. WELL to make a LONG story SHORT. They can't figure it out and are WAITING on HONDA to get back with them with the FIX......SO ITS NO :biker: for ME!! :cus: :banghead: UNTIL atleast Tuesday (CLOSED MONDAY) and ONLY Then If they get HER READY.....
RIDE If Ya CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go get it and tell em you will bring it back when they have had a chance to research the problem with Honda...

I just got back from a ride today. Did about 125 miles in 50+ degree weather with about a 20 MPH wind at times. Had to retreat the gas again. Oh well, was a nice ride...

Tomorrow they say the high is to be in the low 20's........ Then :snow1: on Sunday and Monday.

RJ,

Curious about the Harley ServiCar. Got my first ride as a lad of six years on the tank of my Dad's '52 Harley K-Model, a post-WWII side valve 45 cubic inch V-twin. Do you have pictures to share?

Thanks,
Coot

Somewhere I have pictures, but don't know where to look.

Last picture(s) taken of it was around 18 years ago when I parked it in the rear of the garage after we stripped the motor and tranny, seat, tanks and etc out of it to start a rebuild. That's also when the plates went into storage.

Got distracted and 3 years ago we started on rebuilding the engine and tranny again. Finally got the engine together 14 months ago, and the tranny together about 4 months ago. Been too cold to work on it this winter, and with the riding season coming up, it will probably set another year.

Will do a pre-install for fit and make sure everything works, tear it down again, ship frame and etc off to be powder coated and then do th final install. Last time we went to put it together, somewhere we lost a bunch of parts...... That was from the move from California to Iowa as it was in the early stages of dismantle then........ Plus, I think the shipping company also lost a box of parts in the move.

I'll snoop around and see if I can come up with a pic or 2. It started life as a police bike. I think it is maybe 1 I rode as an LEO. Can't verify that as I never logged the VIN #'s of what I rode, but I did buy it at auction from the CHP where I was assigned. Modified the 45 engine, (aluminum race heads), extended forks, (chopper style), Limmie front wheel and brake, took the big old metal box off and put a flatbed on it with short stake sides, no rear fenders, left the rear bumper. Was going to convert the mechanical brakes to juice, but couldn't find a good rear end at the time. Now, I think I'll convert it back to original when we get it running again..... Just like a women, can't make up my mind....

Hope you can find the pics.

Sounds like the old Harley Trikes the police used in Montgomery, AL in the fifties when I was a kid.
