Well I am down to 2 bikes now. Sold the Volusia 800 this week-end now have the 2 valks. 98 green tourer and 2000 black Interstate. The green bike just turned 70,000. I got my free money this morning from the government and thought I would put some new shocks on it. Probably Progressive, but don"t know what size. Sure looking forward to Maggie Valley. Roy

The 440's are the best for the Valk...probably the heavy duty springs too.

13" is the stock length, but with the progressives, the bike will sit about 1/2" higher as the progressives don't sag like the OEM's do. I wen't with the 13" heavy duty and have been happy with them.

Lifetime warranty...mine are actually in getting rebuilt now as one was leaking (after about 70,000 miles.

HDL has a pretty good price (http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/stores/product.asp?pid=558&str=2&ID=1014902912) on them.

Hey Roy,
I've had the standard shocks, Progressive 416 airs and the 440's. I put on a set of Interstate shocks before I road to Houston and IMHO they road as good as or better than the 440's.
See ya' in Maggie Valley.

I have the 13" 440HD's from Progressive. I cannot really tell much difference in the ride from OEM. At first I thought it was firmer, but now after about 8000 miles, I think they are actually softer. I didn't have any problem with the OEM's and only bought them because I had insurance money left over after hitting a deer in the summer of '06. And my OEM's were looking bad getting pitted from rust, etc. That's the real thing that pissed me off is that the chrome springs on the Progressives rusted very quickly...less than 6 months over the winter sitting in my shed. And they are a pain to try and clean up. So here I am with rusty shocks again. At least they are hidden behind my bags now. For the money, I don't know if I would buy them again.

I agree with BOB the 440's rust out too quickly and they will not replace them on the lifetime warranty. I finally put my stock shocks back on. The performance increase I noted with new Progressives did not last long after breaking them in as well. I would not buy Progressives again...vc

I really can't tell much different riding the tourer with 70,000 miles or riding the Interstate with 20'000. The shocks look good on the Tourer. I have it set up as a one seater. I guess I would notice the ride more if I was riding 2-up which I do with the Interstate. Roy

I have a set of interstate shocks sitting in my basement that came off of a trike conversion. They probably had less than 50 miles of riding on them. I doubt I'll ever use them as my current bike came with progressive shocks on it. I'd be willing to sell them for a fair price........
