Wow, nothing like picking up a new bike and riding it 612 miles to home! I was pretty nervous at first, especially since I had to slide most of the way off the seat to reach the ground on one side. I put a grocery bag across the seat so that I could slide back & forth easier. We attached a long bolt to the kickstand so I could reach it, and of course the first one I bought wasn't long enough. At one of the gas stops, I just got one foot down and crawled off the bike while holding it up and then put the stand down. I was afraid to try that technique getting on it though. The rest of the time, till I got the longer bolt, I waited for my riding partner (DDT) to get off his bike and lower the stand for me. Man I hate being dependant!! We had intended to ride all the way yesterday, but we hit rain and colder temps so I opted that we stop for the night. Luckily the place we stopped had a Lowes and this morning, I replaced the kickstand bolt with a longer one. Nothing stopping me now!!!

We had about an hours worth of rain today, but the temps were warmer. It was really cool ..........when it would start raining, I'd just hit the button and my windshield would raise up and stop the rain from hitting me! I really like the bike and I think it is going to be great for touring once I get a few mods done. In fact one of the mods was waiting on me when I got home. It will bring the bars 1.5" closer to me.

The only other mod I plan on doing is to cut the seat down, as usual. Oh yeah, once that's done, the bolt will come off the stand and if it needs to be longer, I'll have a nice spacer welded in place.
