Today's featured Cheaha info is our prize info and sponsor list. First, we plan on having a raffle just like last year that works like this:

you get one FREE ticket just for coming

that ticket ....can be used to 'compete' for any of the Chinese auction items...just like last year

you can buy more tickets if you wish....but that's up to you...

first, we have the "chinese auction"...in which you place your ticket(s) in the container representing the item(s) you wish to try for

then, after the chinese auction, we have a "general" raffle. we put ALL the tickets back in the "barrel" from the Chinese auction....both winners and non winners...and draw for some general items....shirts, hats, etc. so EVERYONE has an equal chance at these items...whether or not they won something in the "Chinese auction" or not..

Then, we take ALL the tickets again, put them back in the barrel, and draw for the Grand Prize winner (yes, EACH ticket has THREE different chances....the auction, the general raffle, and finally, the grand prize!). Right now, we're trying to get enough gift certificates from different vendors to have at LEAST $500 worth of gift certs .....so the one lucky winner can go on a BIG "shopping spree" with our sponsors!!!!!!

And, speaking of Sponsors, so far...they are:

2S2 Accessories (Frank from SC)
Carolina Bike and Trike (Matt/Truckracer)

Is the 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort where we will be having lunch on the group ride, Saturday, 14 APril. 29 Dreams is a motorcycle only resort similar to TWO in GA. It is located in Vandiver, AL....about 15 miles south of Leeds and the location of our Group ride destination, the Barbers Motorcycle Musuem and AMA race track.

The lunch menu will be:

BBQ Pork Sandwich
BBQ Bake Beans
Potato Chips
2 Cookies
Fountain Drink

29 Dreams will also have Door Prizes just for us!

the cost of the lunch is $7.25. By "locking down" the menu like this, they will be able to accomodate us quicker....getting us out quicker to head to the museum....our main attraction!

Here is an update on some things as we get ever closer to the big event. Barbers is all set....with the Perimeter track tour set for 300-330....after we visit the museum! The folks from Bikers 2000 Magazine and TV show will be making a professional DVD of the Cheaha event for purchase. And i have obtained a swimming turtle and a swimming fish for the redneck hot tub (guess i'll have to fill it with water this year?). Don't forget to bring your hot tub 'critters'....

We have added another prize/gift certificate for the Grand Prize. Matt/Truckracer of Carolina BIke and Trike fame got us a $100 gift cert to put in the Grand Prize envelope (now totaling over $555 plus in coupons and a 25% off an Ultimate Seat).

Now for some house keeping. The shirt ordering cutoff has come and gone. The Oxford Holiday Inn is the backup hotel. i checked yesterday, and 11 rooms are reserved there. Hopefully perhaps one or two of the folks staying there have a car (wife coming, trailering their bike, etc.?)...and maybe they could offer to carpool/caravan up/down the mountain for the evening festivities....with a designated driver? Also, we need EVERYONE to attempt to share rooms, consider camping, etc....if we are going to get EVERYONE in a room! If you have a room and don't mind someone throwing down a sleeping bag on the floor....SOUND OFF! and again, there is LOTS of camping available still. As well as the backup hotel down in Oxford still has lots of rooms.

Next, IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO GO, I need you to contact me and let me know! I need that head count for the food. If you don't do me the courtesy of contacting me and saying you aren't going (after you register), it means i'll buy too much food, too much booze (IS THAT REALLY POSSIBLE )....and also, Jack and Phyllis will have wasted paper and time making a registration packet and name tag JUST FOR YOU. PLEASE tell us if you can't make it....but have signed up!!!!!!!!!

Our sponsor list now looks like this:

Honda Direct Line
Montgomery Honda
Lady Draco and Highbinder (Don and Tracy)
Blinker Buddy
Mick-O-Pegs
Big Bike Things
Ultimate Seats
Boogie Lights
BOM cleaning supplies
Hog Station cleaning supplies
RIVCO
S&S Motorcycle Accessories (Hard 6)
S2S Accessories (Frank from SC)
Carolina Bike and Trike (Matt/Truckracer)
Clocks4Bikes
Daniel Meyer
Biker 2000 (not only prizes, but writing a magazine article and filming for Dish TV, the Men's Channel)
F6 Store (don't forget those cool shirts!!!!!!)

For the group ride/lunch.....it will work like this. we are riding over to 29 Dreams motorcycle resort. there will be MANY of us....plus all their regular patrons on a saturday for lunch (usually around a hundred or so?). IF WE WANT TO GET IN AND OUT OF THERE....TO SPEND MORE TIME AT THE MUSEUM....the only way we could do that was to lock down a lunch. so, we locked down a menu....and agreed to sell tickets IN ADVANCE up on the mountain Friday night (and any last second takers Saturday morning). it's a bit of a hassle for US....but in the end, it will save us a lot of time....and that means more time at the museum! So, YOU MUST HAVE EIGHT DOLLARS CASH Friday night (or....perhaps Saturday morning ....though it will be too hectic to sell many that morning!) available when you register upon arrival at the hotel parking lot...or...up top at the pavilion. for your $8, you'll receive a 29 Dreams meal ticket. When you arrive at the resort, you don't have to order off the menu....AND WAIT...and wait. Instead, you hand them your ticket, and you get the bbq lunch they will have for us. that way, you'll be ready to go when the group departs for the museum....about 1230. YOU CAN ORDER OFF THE MENU, but there are no guarantees if they will have what you want (they may run out)....and/or, you may have such a long wait, you may not be able to leave when we do! BOTTOM LINE, have the eight bucks up top friday, buy the ticket from us, and everything will go MUCH, MUCH smoother!!!!!!!! There are some other places to eat within 10 miles of 29 Dreams....but to go eat at those...and be back ...and leave with us to go to the museum, might prove to be somewhat logistically difficult!!

Now for some house keeping. As i mentioned earlier, our database got dumped/corrupt. we had to add about 15-16 names back in the Who's Going List. you might want to go check and make sure your name and info are in there...and correct! otherwise, you might not get a registration packet...or name tag...etc.

We have added another prize/gift certificate for the Grand Prize. Cycle Gear sent us a $50 gift cert, so the Grand Prize shopping spree is worth well over 600 bucks!
