A Very Good Friend of ours is in bad shape. He was going down one of the local roads and had a wreck. He was hit broad side by a female driver who wasn't paying attention. He is in the hospital and they had to amputate his left Leg. So PLEASE be aware of what is going on around you. You don't want to end up this way. He is starting the Christmas Season by losing a limb. Please, Please be careful. I am the type who cares deeply about the ones I care about and I do care about anyone who Rides a Bike. Please keep him in your prayers his name is Jerome Mitchell.

Thanks,
Lynn :(

Sorry to hear that :( I just found out that a very close friend of mine wife has cancer :( She is not expected to live more than three months. This is the guy that had three Valkyries and just bought a used Boss Hoss. They are great people and this is very hard to take this time of year. They have been raising 3 grand daughters ever since they were very small and I don't see how Howard is going to do it by himself now. :( Keep them in your prayers too if you would.

Very sorry to hear that. It really reinforces the way you need family and friends. Prayers are with them.

It is very hard this time of year. We just buried another good Friend after thanksgiving. He died On Thanksgiving Day. He (in our local club) was the safety officer and was only 49. That was very very hard. He was a sweet guy. Now to find out another has lost his leg. Man, this is not a good ending to a great year. So dealing with one tragedy has been hard and to find out another good member has lost a limb makes it harder. I am so sorry to hear of the other person here that has a close friend with cancer. I will keep them in my daily prayers along with the others.

Thanks Guys You are great!

Prayers are going out for Jerome and all our friends that need strength and peace during this Christmas season.
We have an extremely nice dedicated organist in our church who is presently undergoing chemo and radiation therapy for cancer. Please include her in your prayers. Despite her trials, she is still playing the church organ almost every service.

Thoughts and prayers going out to everyone mentioned here, and to all those that do not have anyone, especially this time of year. Lets remember them also.

Well, today this afternoon, My hubby and I will be off to the hospital to Visit with Jerome and I am a little nervous about things. What do you say in a case like that? Asking how they are doing seems like a dumb question. But the right words will come. We have been told that he is in good spirits, but he has been so doped up that I don't know. I guess the right words will come to me . I know what I am thinking but don't want to say them to him. But I know we will be there if he has a need.

Saying that you will be there would be exactly the right words and action. :) Say what you feel. Being genuine and truthful is the best way to go.

Yeah, I guess so. I am just afraid I may say something that would upset him. Now I don't know. He is a strong minded guy, so I may not. But I hope and pray for him every since we found out about the accident. I guess, just letting him know we will be there if he needs anything at all will be enough said. Thanks for the advice. I needed it. Never had someone I knew who lost a limb. Only my uncle who was paraplegic and a good friend who was in Nam who lost his leg. Thanks again!

Just encourage him that he WILL be able to ride again! There is a guy here in my area that lost a leg and he rides a "crotch rocket" all the time with no modifications. There is also a guy that visited the VRCC board a few times that was confined to a wheelchair but he still rode a Valk! (converted side car), and of course he could do like you and trike it. I think the best thing will be that he knows that he has friends like you will be the best boost for him.

Thanks! That really helps. I think he will be ok, just after this, I don't want to see him give up and I know a lot of folks do. But like I said, He is a strong minded guy. We also know of a guy who is in a wheelchair and rides a customized trike, plus know of one who has a prostetic leg and rides a Harley. He lost his leg in Nam. Rides good too. But all I can do is to let him know we wanted to check on him and that if he needs anything at all that all he has to do is to call on us. We will be there. He does have some kids so that will help him. He has a grown daughter and a son, and also another daughter who is a tad younger. I know that they will help him too. I will let you all know how he is doing. You have all been super sweet with the advice and kind words and it means a lot.

Thanks :)

Our Prayers are with your friend, I pray that he he heals well, and quickly, that whatever God's plan ....it works out for the good of all!
I am so sorry for your friend. Sometimes we can't explain things. May he be given an inner strength that is above our cardinal understanding!
