I joined the Honda Riders Club - primarily for the roadside assistance, & it looks like they will pay for the MSF ER course as well. I checked locally & it is a half day on a Saturday, about 5 miles from my house. (Beginners course is a 2 1/2 day weekend) How about opinions from those who have taken this course? Good & bad.

It's been several years since I took it...I need to take it again. I highly recommend it!

Hopefully you will never need the HRCA for Roadside Assist. I have heard more horror stories then good ones. The good news is HRCA does in fact reinburse up to $75 per year on a "riders course" ... that makes the course FREE for me up where I live. I try and take the MSF course every other year - it is WELL WORTH the time. May I suggest taking the Experienced Riders Course after your Beginners Course ... If you have been riding a short time the course will give you "confidence", if you have been riding a long time the course will hone and keep your skills sharp. Any advantage you can give yourself while on 2 wheels is plus ... the MSF Courses are a plus.

The Saftey Course is the best money you will ever spend... Every rider needs to take the course. I take the Experienced Rider Course every other year. Each time I learn something. :amflag:

The ERC is an EXCELLENT class. I never knew you could scape the pegs on a Valk at 10 miles an hour!! It'll be the best time you ever spent on a Saturday. Well, almost! :D
MSF course is a much needed class every other year or 2 at the max.
Red Rider Road Assistance, In my opinion they can shove it up where the sun NEVER shines...
I had it once, needed a tow and I was 5 miles too far out of their territory and no one was under contract in the area where I was. So there I set until a Trooper came by. He got me a tow from a private outfit in Eastern California. He was an Arizona Trooper. :cop2:
So now I use the tow service from MTA out of Las Vegas and they even came after my Trike when I lost a wheel on it.....
Red Rider doesn't get any more of my $$$$ for towing service. So Solly Cholly......... Me no speakie Enquish.  :banghead:

The curriculum is new at most sites. There is no longer any classroom-it is all on the range. It will really help most folks. I have taught the ERC for nearly ten years. If I ever stop teaching it, I will take it yearly to help with the bad habits. Right now, I let my other instructors watch me and 'fault find'.
