View Full Version : It's a sad day for me

With a lump in my throat and a tear in the corner of my eye I say farewell to my faithful companion, the big bumble bee. It has served me well for 8 years and was a troublefree mount. A heart attack and arthritis in my hips and a spinal injury have finally ended my days on a big two wheeler. Now I need to explore the world of trikes or add to my scooter collection. They are lighter and easier to handle. I have my eye on a Suzuki 650 twin Burgman. It will top 115+ and all I read the transmission is much superior to Honda's Silverwing 600 Scooter with the same belt trans that all my scooters have including the Helix I rode for 17 yrs. My bike was in such immaculate condition and had every chrome dodad that Hal and Rattlebars sold me it brought a whopping $10K which isn't shabby for a '97 Valk. Goodbye old friend

It must be a sad day losing such a good friend after 8 years.
Fortunately there are options for keeping the wind in your face.
Good luck in your search for another companion be it a trike or a scooter.

Hey at least you are still going to be in the wind. I pray that your health improves and maybe someday you will be back on the bike of your dreams. Hang in there my friend.

They will have to pry my cold dead fingers off of MGM.

I've been told to quit riding, no way Jose.

When I go, I want to come sliding in sideways and holler dang what a ride, then when the dust settles they will see my great big old smile, just before I breath my last breath........

Best of luck, Tedsmini. I hope your health improves and you're as happy with your next ride as you were with you're Valk. Here's to ya! :capwin:

sorry to hear of your health problems, but a trike is a lot of fun, I have a 99 Valk IS with Lehman trike kit - It's a blast!

It's not a bad thing, I have been riding trikes for four years now and prefer it to a 2 wheeler no question. It's a shame you already sold the Valk, but there are many options when you go for a trike, check all of them out!!

I love the way you think RJ.

Earthdog, in 2 months & 29 days I will have been riding for 60 years, with somewhere around/over a million & a half miles on a motor.

No one is going to cheat me out of that honor, unless the main man upstairs wants me to lead a parade, and calls me up before B'Day # 73...........
