My personal opinion of J&M is all they have is JUNK, a worthless customer service, and product warranty also.

I doubt that Air Rider has anything close to this but I like their radios, CB's, helmet speaker kits and etc a whole lot better.

Here is a link to them.

Air rider bought out Cycle Comm when Ron passed away.

I still have 2 CB's that Ron built for me in the 80's that get out further than any J&M, is clearer and etc. NO, the radio's are not hopped up.

I also still use a couple of his headsets. I have a J&M headset around that I can't keep the mouthpiece in front of my face. I tried to get them to fix it and they flat told me that was a problem with them and they were not responsible. SO, I don't buy J&M anymore, even if I have to go without.

I've used J&M products purchased from Sierra Electronics. All issues were dealt with promptly and courtiously. If you buy J&M I suggest you do it through them...vc

Hey VC, Sierra Electronics is where I bought it and they told me to deal directly with J&M. So I did.......... So, I don't buy J&M and I don't buy from Sierra anymore either.

I had bought 2 helmets and communication kits from them at a Rally. It was a promotion they were doing for J&M. Special deal, J&M was to handle any warranty directly......... yeah right..... Stick it you know where and then break it off........... One helmet I replaced the J&M with Cycle Comm, and the other one was my daughters helmet so she didn't care as all she listened to was the radio when traveling. Once in awhile she would say I need to take a potty break. Other than that and reading the maps and giving directions, her helmet communication setup didn't get used too much.

Okay I'll break the tie...

I brought from Sierra Electronics but bought the J&M Stuff..

Mine has worked great....But if I was not at a show... I would just buy it from J&M online.

Only problem I have had is the wires pulling out of the helmet connection that fastens to the actual helmet. Being a little impatient that I am... I took and exacto knife and cut it apart fixed the solder joints and epoxied it back together. Has worked fine on 2 different units that broke.

I'm really interested in that new CB. Kinda ticks me off tho' I was looking for something to mount to my Tourer and couldn't really find anything that I liked. I ended up going with the AirRider and a RadioShack Handheld for a CB. The Air Rider is ok..just that ok. It's too big to mount anywhere permanently, I carry it in my tank bag. The PTT switch quits working every now and then. (it's not sealed very well) and I can't get the volume for the mic's adjusted the way I'd like. it has 3 settings. Hi, Med, Low. I'm tearing the tourer down this winter for paint and some other goodies. I think I'm going to try the J&M. If it works out I'll sell my AirRider.
