Talk about strange happenings, :? just about two or three weeks ago we had record floods in the area. Downtown Marietta Ohio was under water for the SECOND time in 4 months. :cry: ( you can read all about it and see some video on our local TV stations website, www.wtap.com (http://www.wtap.com)) Get this, the floods caused some barges to get loose on the river, they ran into the Bellville Dam (just below Marietta) causing the flood gates to get jammed open. The water was so swift the barges were wrapped around the Dam like they were paper. :shock: Due to all of this, the gates on the Dam can't be closed and the river is now at an ALL TIME record low. River traffic between Willow Island Dam and Bellville is closed, the river level at Bellville yesterday was 2 feet!! :22yikes: Now granted we have been lucky about the snow, we just got a few inches, and even though it is cold here, it isn't like what some of you are having, still cold though :roll:
The kids have been off from school quite a bit, (school systems around here are such wimps ) :oops: Now seems like our High School is having some kind of "air" problems where the kids are getting a rash, :eek: and no one knows why? :o4: It has just been a weird Winter. Can't wait for Spring!! :clap2:
