Just got back from the Doc. He says the bone's not completely mended yet, but I'm allowed to put 50% weight on it while wearing the boot. He wants me to increase the weight load every week and by the time I go back in 4 weeks I should be walking without cane or crutches. And, the best part..... I can take the boot off now to sleep at night, yippeeee!

That's great Vicki. You can't keep a good girl down. Especially when she has a new valk in the future. Take it one day at a time.
I just got out of the Dr.'s office an hour ago and got the last x-ray on my arm. I am good to go for everything except..... motorcyling. Supposed to wait until February before I ride again. We'll see about that.
Anyway, I know what you mean about being happy to be able to sleep without that boot. I slept for several weeks with my arm on a chair next to the bed, if you wanna call that sleeping.
Take care Miss Vicki, happy holidays to you and Jim.

now pay attention Vicki, I only going to say this once since you are a big girl, in spirit.

DO NOT push it too fast, take an extra day if needed before adding more weight. Be very faithful with your therapy. You can push it here to some degree, but not too much now. Just cause you got pain does not mean you got gain.

Otherwise ya'll will end up with an ankle and knee like mine.

I went too fast too quick and now in my tender years I'm paying big time for it....... I know they do things a lot different now than 52 years ago but the end result is still the same....... I believe they now call it Arthur-I-tis.

So ya'll will be a sleepin with 2 gentlemen for most of the rest of your life. Arthur, ya'll will never be able to get rid of. Trust me, I've tried.

That is good news Vicki!!
Listen to RJ!!
I have a bum ankle and a knee, and a thumb.
Well the list goes on and on!!!
Take care and take it slow, listen to the therapist.
That is what they do!!
Mend you, and mend you well. If you listen.
Sometimes we are all a little hard headed, but listen it will pay off in the long run!!!
Hope to see you soon!!

Good news Vickie. Again RJ is right. Do what you have to do but don't push it.

It's sounds to me that you'll get the Valk all fixed up the way that you want just about the time that you'll be ready to ride it.

Way to go!

Now, tell me, Vicki, 50% should be about 40 lbs, right?
Don't you go overdoing it by traipsing up to the barn!

That's great news Vicki.
Hope you have a good nights sleep without the boot.
Patience on trying to do too much, you're too close to getting better.
Don't need no stinking relapse.

Great news! I have to second some of the others however. Don't push too hard. I spent 6 months in a cast and can relate to wanting to get on with it. But as RJ so eloquently put it, there's a price to be paid down the road if you aren't careful!!
