Now, Tell Me How You Really Feel About Loud Pipes?

This topic became quite controversial for this usually mellow mc board. Infringement on one's rights, perceived or otherwise is always a hot topic. If we talk about mandatory laws for helmets, seat belts, child restraints, etc, we are going to get varied opinions and feelings. Some people are going to complain about anything and everything. Some might actually feel that stock Honda Valkyrie pipes are too loud, because they do not care for motorcycles.

I'm Not a Mandatory Enforcement Person. I most always wear a mc helmet but believe it should be riders choice. Seat belts, I wear, don't want a ticket. Probably believe in car seats and seat belts for small children. I'm just tired of constant government intervention in our lives where it is not needed. Cradle to Grave Government is Not My Idea of Utopia

"Do they Save Lives"?

I Don't know but Responsibility and Respect for others is the "key", I believe.

Somewhere in between is a happy medium. Now, about shooting those birds :D

I love the sound of LOUD PIPES so please leave this state and harass bikers elsewhere. We already have too much harassment by the man in Mass! :x

I'm currently in the process of loudening My Valk.

"Loudening" that's a word isn't it

Why, because my Valk is just a little "too quiet" I'm tired of the HD's I'm passing :D sounding ferocious and the Valk humming away as it passes them. I'm going to 5" pipes with glass packs. Louder, most likely, too loud, I hope not for long trips but if it is, I've still got my stock pipes and earplugs. Couldn't afford the Mark T's but wanted something different. Cutting the piggies was not for me and I like the look of these with the added kick of a performance boost 8)

I go for the selective enforcement go after the ones that abuse it. There are enough stupid laws on the books that if the Police enforced them, they wouldn't have enough time to do what they need to like protecting you from real crime. In my area we have laws that if you have a R.V you have to hide it in your back yard and it must be covered. (How many people have a lot that they can get a 35' trailer in it?) You can't put 4-Sale signs on your vehicles, you can't park a pick-up truck on the street, etc. Instead of laws like this why don't they make the law that if you commit a crime and you are sentenced to 20 year you spend the entire 20 years in jail?
O.K. off my soap box now.
