runemyday

I have been watching and then started bidding on a new Rune at E Bay yesterday afternoon one sold for $20,964.00. This dealer likely sets the bar for the others. (Spec 47) Those local dealers that have them in stock are nuts still trying to extract prices higher than suggested retail. I was told by one local salesman that is not yet stocking them the dealership does not want to pay the flooring on these puppies thur the winter months so some may arrive on Sping orders. I am in Southern Ca. where right after the bidding ended my buddy and I jumped on a new Rune (purchased in Vermont) and a Valkyrie and spent three hours riding.
I think I will be looking for more discounts on E Bay thur the winter months on these bikes. There is one guy selling a pre plated spec 47 there and his reserve is higher than the price a new one went for. Once the thing is registered the warrenty starts ticking (so I understand). so it has to be worth less than a new one, right?
Its true I will not be the first in town that will have a Rune under my butt and there is true value in that... but I think the day of paying over retail is finished. Some of the Runes that are on E bay did not even get bids and many did not hit the reserve when offered below $22,000.00 Only time and the public willingness to pay will set the value of these bikes.... Oh how I love the free market. All the freedoms our country offers are in fact worth fighting for.... Figure they are thinking about Runes in Iraq, other than our servicemen that want to come home and ride one...
