I have a 99 tourer with cobra 6x6 pipes. The guy I bought it from said it was re-jetted and K&N filter. Now my question. I'm wanting to go back to the stock pipes. I have cut the pigglets and drilled the front baffles with a 1/2" bit. I have also added a 6 degree trigger wheel and raised the front of the tank some with a spacer so the V-stacks won't hit the tank. Will I have to go back to the stock jets or can I leave the ones that are in there now? Also going to put the I/S Throttle springs in as soon as the get here. I know I will poobably do a re syn. on the carbs. after this is done. I also have just tuned her up with new plugs, and valve adjustment.
Thanks, David

After you get all these changes done, take a reading of your plugs. Then if you need to adjust the jets, you know what is your starting point.

Stock jets work good also..........

The plugs will tell the story as to what needs to be done.......... The tip, insulator should have a light brown color to it. If it is black, it is too rich, if it is white, it is too lean....

The best way to check and get a good reading, it take it out on the open road, run it up through the gears, cruise for a few minutes and then kill the engine. Coast to a stop and pull a couple of plugs. Read em, figure out what you have to do, fire it up and go back home to correct the problem..............
